Top Quality Solid Cedar Shutters - Fixed Louver or Raised Panel

AESTHETIC MOUNTING DIRECT TO SIDE OF HOME:

Shutters are mounted directly to a wall surface. To allow for wood drying from moisture they MUST have at least a 3/8" to 1/2" shim placed between the shutter and the wall surface. This IS VITALLY IMPORTANT to allow the shutter to "breathe." Skipping this step will trap moisture in the shutter causing it to decay. Mount shutters using six screws placed at rail locations. The screws are usually rust proof wood deck screws, or similar.

EVERY dry wood rot panel we have ever seen for repair or replacement had been mounted withOUT the shim spacer described above. We know what we are talking about. A 3/4" shim is too much since small birds could nest behind the panel.

OPTION: See Shutter Hardware Section for #16 Aestheric Mount Kit of black powder coat metal brackets with bolts and screws to mount to top and bottom of panel, eliminate need to screw thru face of panel. $45 per set of 8 for pair of shutters for mounting to wood or masonry. For masonry we even supply the special drill bit needed.

Rust proof 1x1 "L" brackets and exterior screws could also be obtained from your nearby hardware store, but they won't have a finish on them..

 

TRADITIONAL FUNCTIONAL MOUNTING OPTIONS:

Cedar Shutters are manufactured to be hinged, however shutters may be mounted directly to the surface of the house and used only for decorative purposes.

Shutter "S" Holdbacks:

Steel construction and plated before final flat black finish. Application of non-rattling spring requires a minimum space of 1 3/8" between wall and shutter.

Hinge for 1-1/8" Shutters: Ideal for Bahama Shutters. Hung flush with casing.

Hinges measure 4-3/16" vertical, 5" horizontal, 1" width. Two shutters require two pairs of hinges. Larger shutters may require additional hinges. Stamped steel.

ACME Lull & Porter Mortised Hinge:

1 set = 2 Right-handed hinges, 2 left-handed hinges, 2 sets of fasteners (enough hardware to do one window). No screws. Cast iron.
