Kitchen cabinet drawers are famous for faulting in a variety of ways. The basic cause is that they likely were not made well to begin with and in use they get a lot of rough treatment.
Common problems include the drawer front being busted away from the drawer box. It happens when slamming the drawer closed too hard, especially with heavy contents. We fix 'em. Typically $90 to $150 averaging $150.
Another common problem is the drawer box faults at any of the 4 corner joints. It happens for similar reasons but starts with poor design. We fix e'm. Typically $150 TO $250
Finally, drawer bottoms warp or get loose from overweight. We fix 'em also.Typically $150
There comes a time however, when remaking the drawer box becomes required. While we do fix 'em it is most cost practical to start with a new top quality drawer box.
See the section on Drawer Pricing. A new solid maple hardwood lumber drawer box with dovetail joints will last forever. We supply 'em. The only draw back is takes a couple of weeks to get 'em. When received we can then transfer the drawer front to the new box and modify the box for its track or slide system.
Furniture drawers are basically no different, but are usually much larger, longer, or wider than kitchen drawers. Old chests and dressers frequently have faulting drawer boxes because of similar causes to kitchen drawers and due to size have twisted and warped. The solution is again a new drawer box.
OLD FURNITURE DRAWER SIDES:
Old drawer sides from larger furniture can be repaired, in order to save the drawer originality. The cost varies depending on how many drawer sides are involved; and, how the drawer was made and ease of disassembly for modifying.
WOOD DRAWER SLIDES:
Furniture drawer slide systems vary widely. The most common problem is the bottom center track of wood breaks.
