Pull Out Trays
This pertains to both kitchen base cabinets and pantry cabinets.
Our pull out tray: Made of solid ½” maple lumber with dovetailed corner joints and ¼” matching ply bottom, all pre-finished in natural lacquer. Most trays are 22” deep front to back and are presumed to be 3 ½” tall top to bottom. The front edge will have a curved handle cutout area. Allow 2-3 weeks for order from Keystone,
Our side rollers: We use only Grass brand white side rollers that are usually 22” long. They will pull the drawer out about ¾ of the length. We usually make a matching lumber cleat ¾ wide x 1 ½” high that screws down into base or shelf of the cabinet for attachment.
Side cleats to the cabinet are also possible. We avoid mounting to the side of the cabinet because when retrofitting since the cabinet sides cannot usually be trusted to be square and parallel within the tight tolerances required for side mounts. If side mounts are requested in-field measurements will be required along with the corresponding charge. Installation costs will also increase
Width sizing is important: The ¾”wood cleat can set at least partially behind the face frame. The side roller consumes ½” per side. The tray and side roller must clear the door or doors when it is pulled out by ½” per side. The wood tray box should therefore be at least 2” narrower than the cabinet opening.
On site measurements for kitchen base cabinets: The customer should be able to measure the width of the opening from face frame to face frame and to advise if there is one or two doors covering the opening. We also need to know if the shelf in the base unit is fixed in place or adjustable and whether it is “full depth” to the cabinet. Adjustable shelves must be made rigid if a pull out shelf is going to be mounted on them. The customer becomes responsible for accurate sizes and to also confirm there are no internal obstructions inside the cabinets such as plumbing or wiring.
On site measurements for kitchen pantries and other unusual requirements: We will make an onsite measurement and take full responsibility for $100-150 depending on location.
